Organize products with categories and units

Categories make a large catalog easier to browse. Units of measure help you describe how a product is sold or counted.

Create a category

1. Open Inventory → Categories.
2. Choose Add category, enter a name, and select a parent category if you want it nested.
3. Save, then assign the category when creating or editing a product.
4. Reorder or move categories from the category list when you want to change how they are organized.

Add a unit of measure

1. Open Inventory → Units of Measure.
2. Choose the action to add a custom unit.
3. Enter a clear name and abbreviation, then save.
4. Select the unit from the product form when it is available.

SokoWise also provides standard units. Custom units belong to the active business, so switch to the correct business before adding them. Existing sales keep the unit and product details recorded at the time of the sale.
